High school is a wonderful time for everyone, and it should be to you too. With all the assignments being given to you, it would be nice to join an extracurricular activity to keep your mind off of them. In addition, joining a club or a team during high school can build your soft skills such as communication, leadership, and teamwork.

If you’re interested in an activity that can keep you fit and let out all the stress, you should join the sports team. Here are a few sports teams that can be good to try out for.

Usually, there are seasons that determine what the jocks should be training for. There’s football season, soccer season, basketball season, and even wrestling season. However, that timeline usually only works in the United States. Everywhere else in the world, they have their own basketball teams.

Joining basketball will increase your agility, strength, and increase your height! Not too bad if you want to be as tall as a supermodel and as strong as a boxer.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading is a sport, and it is for both sexes, so everything that the Hollywood movies are telling you is not entirely true. Cheerleading trains you just as hard as any other sports team would. You’ll need strength, flexibility, and focus. Not to mention, you need a full heart of spirit to bring out the spirit in everyone else during the games. There are national championships and scholarships available for outstanding cheerleaders too, so you can keep an eye on that during tryouts.

Swimming has been loved all around the world for its ability to sculpt our bodies without having to break a sweat. Swimming is the most relaxing sport, other than yoga, that can increase your lung abilities, your flexibility, and speed.

Not every school has a swim team, because some doesn’t have indoor swimming pools. However, if your school does have one, it would be a good idea to join if you want a sport that isn’t too rigorous.

Track Running

Not every school has a track running team as well, because they’d have to have a running track, to begin with. However, some high schools use the public running track to train or go to a nearby running track owned by a neighboring school. Running is an overall cardio, so rest assured if you join the running team, you won’t have to worry about losing weight.
